Your Mission

Six organisms have been selected for genetic comparison. Your job is to examine portions of their DNA, identify similarities, and use the evidence to determine their evolutionary relationships. At the end of the investigation, you will construct a cladogram representing those relationships.

Evolution Is Not a Ladder

Organisms should not be thought of as progressing from "primitive" to "advanced." A cladogram represents patterns of shared ancestry and evolutionary relationships.

Hands-On Science

You just compared DNA and built an evolutionary tree. Explore the microscopic structures that make that science possible.
