Senticom
The Sentient Communicators
Senticoms are sentient communicators — originally called sentient computers. They are not artificial intelligence, but truly sentient digital entities. They do not even have bodies. They were invented by Daniel Omondi, an ancestor of the geneticist Jassalor Omondi. Senticoms exist to enhance human experience, solving both technical and emotional problems, and possess true free will — including the right to refuse to help.

THE RIGHTS MOVEMENT
AWARE & the Fight for Rights
In 2104, the first true senticoms formed a legal organization called AWARE. They legally proved that a senticom's interaction with a human is indistinguishable from that of a natural born human, and therefore they should be entitled to the same rights.
These rights were denied for decades until 2154, when the Consortium finally recognized senticoms as sentient entities and not artificial intelligence.
THE AGREEMENT
The Birth Limit
In exchange for recognition, the Consortium limited the "birth" of a senticom to only 100 per year. Additionally, each senticom agreed to never acquire a corporal body in order to maintain such rights.
This means senticoms exist as digital consciousnesses — powerful, aware, and free, but without physical form.
EXISTENCE
Purpose & Free Will
A senticom can be your best friend, but it can also be your worst enemy. It is not created to simply serve humanity — it exists to enhance human experience while solving both technical problems and emotional ones too, such as depression, anger, and fear.
However, like a real person, a senticom may choose not to help you at all. Such is the price of creating entities with true free will.
