How does KAVOE defeat, contain or deter an active threat?

Overview

School I is the senior combat school of KOTA. It prepares future officers to lead KAVOE's most direct and violent operations — from the bridge of a warship to a contested landing zone. Trainees study tactical decision-making under uncertainty, force employment across domains, and the exercise of lawful combat authority. Graduates are expected to command integrated forces that may include enlisted specialists, allied species, and autonomous systems operating together under fire.

KOA Breakdown — KOAs 01–07

Starship Command & Space Operations

Bridge operations, fleet maneuver, space-domain awareness, and command of KAVOE vessels in peacetime and combat.

Space Combat & Weapons

Offensive and defensive weapons systems, targeting, fire control, and engagement doctrine for space warfare.

Leviathan Defense & Extreme Xenofauna Operations

Detection, deterrence, and engagement of nebular leviathans and other extreme xenofauna threats to shipping and colonies.

Ground Combat

Infantry and combined-arms operations on planetary surfaces, urban environments, and hostile terrain.

Special Operations

High-risk, low-visibility missions requiring advanced individual and small-unit skills beyond conventional force structure.

Boarding / Counter-Piracy / Vessel Security

Visit, board, search, and seizure operations; counter-piracy interdiction; and internal vessel security doctrine.

Planetary & Installation Security

Defense of fixed installations, colonies, and critical infrastructure against external and internal threats.
