Zul'Elkoen Character Archive — Sapient Entity Records
The Velkth Quantum Information Repository contains 15 sapient entity records from the Zul'Elkoen Universe, including central protagonists, recurring figures, historical figures, scientists, civilians, pirates, and characters from different eras.
- Masey / Zul / The Elkoen (also known as Masey, Zul, The Elkoen, Shara Zul'Elkoen, Katelynn, Cheytara, Tyla) — After Lucas enters Morrison Kelly's Bar and Grille, Black Supreme Masey reveals a much more concrete identity and agenda. She says her birth name is Shara Zul'Elkoen and that she comes from another universe, omnne' 00, where Earth's equivalent is Teira and her people speak Kephoresh. The 'real Masey' is over 200 years old. In Lucas's universe, multiple Masey cybernetic bodies have been manufactured using her genetic material and transmitted information. Supreme Masey, also called Number One, coordinates these models. She possesses extreme physical strength, speed, durability, rapid regeneration, flight/hovering ability, and very high computational capacity. She has extensive knowledge of the Nyokai and uses Lucas as part of a coordinated operation to expose Nyokai infiltrators. Her larger plan includes releasing a modified retrovirus that changes humanity and deliberately positioning herself as a common enemy in the belief that humanity will unite against her.
- Drenezka / Gretchen (also known as Drenezka, Gretchen) — A highly dangerous shapeshifting entity capable of extreme violence and human mimicry. She saves Qen'Ro and others on multiple occasions, creating a morally complicated bond with him. In later material she can be summoned through a ritual on Zul and is treated as a goddess by some inhabitants. Masey says she was barely able to defeat Drenezka and that the two now have an understanding.
- Natasha Giovana Ester Marie Lewis (GEM) (also known as GEM, Gem, Natasha) — A young human from Nike who wants to enter KAVOE as enlisted personnel rather than immediately pursue an officer path. Her work centers on communications, Qcom/ACS encryption and equipment repair. Her storyline follows training, personal relationships, loss during a Leirth attack, and later KAVOE service.
- Qen'Ro Xephunekar (also known as Qen'Ro, Mr. Xephunekar) — A scientifically trained central character whose survival becomes entangled with Drenezka and the pirate vessel Jadespear. He is analytical and scientifically curious, but his judgment becomes complicated by Drenezka repeatedly saving his life. Captain Grace Brenwelle forces him to contribute to Jadespear operations and research.
- Captain Grace Brenwelle (also known as Grace Brenwelle, Captain Brenwelle, Grace) — The formidable captain of the Jadespear. Grace is pragmatic, coercive and willing to use lethal force, but she maintains rules aboard her vessel and insists that crew members contribute to ship operations. She commands a heavily modified vessel capable of defeating KAVOE fighters and forces Qen'Ro and Surren into service after taking them aboard.
- Dr. Marissa Edgington (also known as Dr. Edgington, Marissa Edgington) — A 42-year-old field scientist leading the Survey of Consortium Sectors 1 through 7. Her advanced concentrations include Kaveth classification, Elnovar ecology and comparative field biology. She completed ORG 3, spent four years in a SIAGE comparative-biology program, worked for Ventopia, served three years in KAVOE science-support and survey operations, and later conducted independent biological surveys.
- Lucas Caufield (also known as Lucas) — A 17-year-old student from Suamico, Wisconsin, initially struggling academically and bullied for cross-dressing. After a Nyokai-engineered mosquito bite, Lucas develops superhuman intellectual ability. He is later teleported to Lenozvok II, survives the floating city of Spirex, challenges The One, and eventually reforms the city's population-control system.
- Mei Wan / The One (also known as Mei Wan, The One) — Lucas Caufield's brilliant 17-year-old best friend. The Nyokai experiment gives her an extraordinary ability to understand languages represented in the Nyokai database. Through unexplained temporal displacement, an older Mei reaches Spirex before Lucas and becomes the authoritarian ruler known as The One, maintaining the city's population through lethal culling.
- Li-Ming Phan (also known as Li-Ming, Sandy) — A human woman living on the harsh desert world Thestias within a protected Ventopia environment. Her story is driven by recurring dreams or mental experiences involving figures whose nature she struggles to understand. Later she travels with Morace, encounters Drenezka, and participates in the confrontation with Masey.
- Ada Petreeko (also known as Ada Petreeko, Adam Wellington (former name)) — A human woman from the Ada, The Trans Porter storyline. She is formerly known as Adam Wellington and seeks a solution to serious financial problems and a rare lung condition caused by long-term exposure to SKIN-E dijits. Her transport work draws her into a larger mystery. Later connected material places her alongside Li-Ming and Morace during encounters involving Drenezka and Masey.
- Tessa Holsonae (also known as Tessa) — One of the Holsonae twins, daughter of Serita and Phirun Holsonae of Rhykzona. Tessa describes herself as the more social member of the pair and is responsible for marketing advanced Holsonae products such as the LIVIA-2700. She joins Nerissa, Ismene and Bkwonn in investigating suspicious disappearances aboard the Morningstar.
- Nerissa Holsonae (also known as Nerissa, Rissa) — Tessa Holsonae's twin sister and daughter of Serita and Phirun Holsonae. Narrative dialogue identifies Nerissa as the twin with greater technical understanding of Holsonae Industries' microscopic dijits and senticom integration. She participates in the investigation of disappearances aboard the Morningstar and helps deploy LIVIA for chemical and spatial analysis.
- Nia Cosmeus (also known as Nia Cosmeus) — Earth-born Brazilian artist whose work blends human musical traditions with extraterrestrial rhythms, tonal structures and compositional techniques. She speaks Portuguese, English, Zelmok and Velkth and has become popular beyond Earth. Her public image includes the Erthuzia Incident, in which she pleaded guilty to illegally transferring a small quantity of alcohol and received four months of technology-deprivation community service on Thessara.
- Halson Juan Fillmore (also known as Halson J. Fillmore, Professor Fillmore) — Influential historian and political philosopher whose work examines why civilizations survive or collapse. His 2087 Fillmore Lectures argue that civilizations endure through adaptation, learning, managed cooperation and the ability to preserve identity without allowing fear or isolation to become governing principles. His ideas later help provide philosophical foundations for the Lurran Consortium.
- Sharra Zul'Elkoen (also known as Sharra Zul'Elkoen) — The figure credited in current historical records with using advanced gravitational/metric manipulation to redirect twenty-two asteroids toward Earth in 2057, producing the catastrophe later called the Falling Tears of Sharra. The event killed nearly one billion people and became a major catalyst for humanity's subsequent effort to understand spacetime technology.
